Drive 4 COPD 300 Finish Live

  1. Amateur race-fans...

I can say this because I was born and raised within walking distance of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and I have more time in IMS's third turn crapper than these dolts have on this earth.

Anybody who spends any time at a motor racing event knows to always keep one eye "up the track."

    Watch the video again.

Most of these idiots turn their backs to the developing crash, or have their backs to the cars still at speed and are watching the cars that have already passed them on the slow-down lap.

It is incredible to me that one can see the crash start a quarter mile up the track, and look at how many people are oblivious to this fact.

I woulda been diving for cover...

I've brought my two sons to IMS since they were old enough to do so without diapers, and I told them that things like this can happen at any time. I always reminded them to look "up the track," and that if something crazy started happening to get down low (or I would throw them down) and I would cover them with my body.

Hell...most of these folks in the video just stood around and waved to "emergency personnel" as the injured bled out right in front of them.

I saw one guy take off his shirt to do something, but most were sheep waiting for somebody else to handle the problem.

It is a miracle that scores weren't killed.

Daytona dodged a huge bullet on this one.

Yes and reminds me of the one in Europe where many of the spectators were killed quite a while ago. I have it on my site, but can't find it.

  2. You mean the LeMans race back in the 50s when the Mercedes barrel rolled into the pit area?
