Russia, China, Iran plan to stage in Syria “biggest Mid East maneuver”

The chess game has been lost and well so, Hussein, unless you're stupid enough to continue.

Middle East military tensions around Syria shot up again Monday, June 18, with the news reported by the semi-official Iranian news agency Fars that a joint Russian-Chinese-Iranian exercise is to take place in Syria.

It was described as “the biggest of its kind ever staged in the Middle East” with 90,000 personnel, 400 air planes and 900 tanks taking part.

As part of its preparations, Beijing is reported to have asked Egyptian authorities to permit the passage through the Suez Canal in late June of 12 naval ships heading for the Syrian port of Tartus, where Moscow maintains a naval and marine base. debkafile reported earlier this week that Russian naval vessels with marines on board were heading for Tartus. The Iranian media did not itemize their contribution to the joint exercise.

debkafile stresses that this would be the first time that substantial Russian and Chinese military strength has ever been deployed in Syria or anywhere else in the Middle East. It means that the two powers are prepared to parade their unabashed partnership with the Iranian and Syrian armies for the shared purpose of obstructing US-European-Arab military intervention in Syria. A large-scale Russian and Chinese military presence in the embattled country would expect to deter the United States from leading a military operation against Bashar Assad and his regime.

Nik Wallenda Walks Over Niagara Falls On Tightrope - Complete RAW Video

Nik Wallenda has become the first person to walk on a tightrope 1,800 feet across the mist-fogged brink of roaring Niagara Falls.

A tethered Wallenda accomplished the feat on Friday night, saying he got through by "a lot of praying." He also credited his concentration, focus and training.

Wallenda said the feat "will be with me forever" and the worst part was waiting for TV networks to be ready as he crouched on the starting platform. "There were 10 painful minutes sitting on that platform. My legs started falling asleep and cramping up."

Asked what he would do next, Wallenda said: "I have permits to be the first person in the world to walk across the Grand Canyon so that's a process we'll start working on. I'd say within three to five years I'll accomplish that as well."

The seventh-generation member of the famed Flying Wallendas had long dreamed of pulling off the stunt, never before attempted. Other daredevils have wire-walked over the Niagara River but farther downstream and not since 1896.

An estimated crowd of 125,000 people on the Canadian side and 4,000 on the American side watched Wallenda's stunt. He hugged his uncle upon setting foot on solid ground again.

Defense – Obstacles Part II: Understanding Natural Obstacles

In the last entry we identified three categories of obstacles (natural, man-improved, and manmade). In this entry we’re going to look at natural obstacles and try to gain an understanding of why they work and how they impact a threat force. Remember a natural obstacle is any feature already found existing in the environment that will frustrate, channel, delay, or otherwise impede a threats movement (our obstacle goals). Natural obstacles include bodies of water, terrain features (such as cliffs, steep draws and jagged spurs, and depressions), thickly forested areas, and any kind of terrain that makes crossing it a slow-go/no-go effort. By slow-go we mean it will severely degrade the movement rate and capabilities of a threat. No-go means that the terrain is impassible which typically only applies to vehicles but can apply to dismounts that are not properly equipped to deal with it (i.e. a cliff).

Some quick definitions here. In these entries when I use the phrase “fight through” obstacles what I mean here is “Breach”. When the threat breaches and obstacle they are creating a path through the obstacle whether under fire or not. The phrase “command and control” (aka C2) means the process by which a threat directs its assets (troops, vehicles, weapons, and other capabilities) during movement and an assault.

Why do natural obstacles work?

Multi-Culti Child Snatchers

As reported in last night’s news feed, social workers in the northern English city of Durham intend to seize a baby from its mother as soon as it is born, for the sole reason that the expectant mother is an active member of the English Defence League.

Like many of his fellow Britons, Paul Weston is outraged at the totalitarian behavior of the British welfare state.

by Paul Weston

Multicultural Britain is becoming an ever more sinister country in which to live. I am pretty much immune to the totalitarian ideology of multiculturalism, but having said that, even I must confess to being shocked that the British state can now kidnap babies and children simply because their parents question the dictatorial and wholly unnatural orthodoxy of the ruling elites.

According to a recent article in The Daily Express, social workers want to seize a baby as soon as it is born because they are concerned about the mother’s links to the English Defence League.

Durham County Council has told Toni McLeod she poses a “risk of significant harm” to her baby because social workers fear the child would become radicalised with EDL views.

To be fair, Ms McLeod is clearly not a graduate of the Cheltenham Ladies College. She has a bit of previous, as it is known in the argot of the criminal fraternity. Assaulting a police officer, setting her dog on an ex-boyfriend and alleged problems with drink and drugs are variously quoted in the article.

All in all, not the best qualifications for motherhood, but these are not the reasons behind the state sanctioned child-snatching. Ms McLeod has been presumed guilty of a far more serious crime than simply living her life as a result of liberalism’s catastrophic progressive policies.

Ms McLeod you see, is deemed a racist — and quite possibly a fascist to boot — both of which are ranked nowadays as the ultimate evil by the promoters of multiculturalism, who are trying desperately to hold together Britain’s rapidly fragmenting and fantastical multicultural Utopia.

The social worker’s report states: “Toni (Ms McLeod) clearly needs to break away from the inappropriate friendships she has through either the EDL or break-off groups in order that she can model and display appropriate positive relationships to the baby as he/she grows and develops.”

Snatching children from parents who hold “inappropriate” political views is nothing new, although it normally requires a fully totalitarian state such as Nazi Germany or Communist Russia in order to be effected. I hope I am not alone in recognising how deeply sinister and frightening multicultural Britain has become when it seeks to emulate the ideology of such dictatorships.

Via Knuckledraggin My Life Away

Ninth Circuit to DEA: Putting a Gun to an 11-Year-Old's Head Is Not OK

Via Don

But: ......the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals defended the agents' rough treatment of Thomas and Rosalie

BS
========

At 7 a.m. on January 20, 2007, DEA agents battered down the door to Thomas and Rosalie Avina’s mobile home in Seeley, California, in search of suspected drug trafficker Louis Alvarez. Thomas Avina met the agents in his living room and told them they were making a mistake. Shouting “Don’t you fucking move,” the agents forced Thomas Avina to the floor at gunpoint, and handcuffed him and his wife, who had been lying on a couch in the living room. As the officers made their way to the back of the house, where the Avina’s 11-year-old and 14-year-old daughters were sleeping, Rosalie Avina screamed, “Don’t hurt my babies. Don’t hurt my babies.”

The agents entered the 14-year-old girl’s room first, shouting “Get down on the fucking ground.” The girl, who was lying on her bed, rolled onto the floor, where the agents handcuffed her. Next they went to the 11-year-old’s room. The girl was sleeping. Agents woke her up by shouting “Get down on the fucking ground.” The girl’s eyes shot open, but she was, according to her own testimony, “frozen in fear.” So the agents dragged her onto the floor. While one agent handcuffed her, another held a gun to her head.

Moments later the two daughters were carried into the living room and placed next to their parents on the floor while DEA agents ransacked their home. After 30 minutes, the agents removed the children’s handcuffs. After two hours, the agents realized they had the wrong house—the product of a sloppy license plate transcription—and left.

Report: Russia to send marines to Syria

Via Billy

Two Russian navy ships are completing preparations to sail to Syria with a unit of marines on a mission to protect Russian citizens and the nation's base there, a news report said Monday. The deployment appears to reflect Moscow's growing concern about Syrian President Bashar Assad's future.

The Interfax news agency quoted an unidentified Russian navy official as saying that the two amphibious landing vessels, Nikolai Filchenkov and Caesar Kunikov, will be heading shortly to the Syrian port of Tartus, but didn't give a precise date.

The official said the ships will carry an unspecified number of marines to protect Russians in Syria and evacuate some equipment from Tartus, if necessary.

Each ship is capable of carrying up to 300 marines and a dozen tanks, according to Russian media reports. That would make it the largest known Russian troop deployment to Syria, signaling that Moscow is becoming increasingly uneasy about Syria's slide toward civil war.

Interfax also quoted a deputy Russian air force chief as saying that Russia will give the necessary protection to its citizens in Syria.

"We must protect our citizens," Maj.-Gen. Vladimir Gradusov was quoted as saying. "We won't abandon the Russians and will evacuate them from the conflict zone, if necessary."

Asked whether the air force would provide air support for the navy squadron, Gradusov said they will act on orders.
