Taunting Panther's Fans Force Marine Amputee Out Of Moosehead Bar and Grill

Via Don

This guy better make himself scarce.

On Sunday a U.S. Marine who lost both legs in Afghanistan was forced to leave Charlotte's  Moosehead Bar and Grill along with his wife, parents and friends after another patron at the restaurant became verbally combative and the restaurant staff asked the Marine to leave.

According to the Charlotte Observer: "The incident happened after Garrett Carnes, his wife Courtney, their parents, and friends Brett and Nicole Coburn stopped at the restaurant for dinner after attending the Carolina Panthers’ game against Dallas. Several members of the party, including Garrett Carnes, were wearing Dallas Cowboys jerseys.

Coburn said that when the group reached the front door, the fan, who other patrons called Tank, was waiting for them."

Josh "Tank" Watts and friend at a Panthers game.
“He was standing at the door, and he started harassing us because of the Cowboys jerseys,” Coburn said.

He said Tank told Garrett Carnes, “Don’t use your wheelchair as a crutch.”

According to multiple accounts of the incident, Carnes told the patron – and others who were ridiculing the group for being Cowboys’ fans – that he was a veteran and had lost his legs in Afghanistan.

Members of the Carnes-Coburn party tried to “defend ourselves verbally,” Brett Coburn said.
He said Tank walked toward Carnes in a threatening way, and some other patrons stepped in to break it up.

Neilsen said his employees are trained to separate possible combatants, in an effort to defuse such situations. On Sunday, staff members asked Garrett Carnes and his party to leave, while they took Tank to another area of the restaurant."

More about Garrett Carnes here and Deadspin picks up the story and takes in national here.  The Daily Mail in the UK piled on this morning here.

Meanwhile the Moosehead Bar and Grill is getting slammed with neg comments on Yelp which is here. Moosehead's Yelp rating has "Tanked" to two stars out of five as Marines from across the nation hammer away at the four star rating the bar had this morning.

Cedar Posts suggests that Josh errr "Tank" may want to leave the state, or at least lay low for a few months. But as the following photos attest he just ain't that smart.

  1. Tank is a total douche as evidenced by his wearing of shoulder pads as a spectator to a game.

A wannabe who probably never even joined the Boy Scouts.

    Eff him.

  2. I'm a 25 year US Army retiree.... Non-Commissioned Officer. Perhaps this incident will allow you and your readers to understand that Americans could give a flying-fuck about their "fellow" Americans who had the balls to do what they wouldn't. As veterans, especially enlisted retirees who didn't "earn" a degree in basket weaving or some other worthless curriculum, our years of experience in taking care of soldiers, millions of dollars in equipment, maintaining such, and offering our lives and limbs for the US .gov and its citizens, means nothing. Often, the only factor in employment hiring between a vet and a non-vet is a "degree". The snot-nosed brat who drank lots of beer and used his college loans to pay for his degree gets the job over a veteran who doesn't have a degree. Why ? "He has a degree". Oh....so you mean my years of military service in foreign lands means nothing ?

I have developed little love for my "fellow" Americans who have no respect for their fellow citizens, like myself, who decided military service was a duty, an honor. Today, less than 1% of Americans have worn the uniform. The other 99% could give a damn about us.

"Thank you for your service". Yeah, right.

    1. Hells bells. Our own government doesn't give a shit about us either...as evidenced by their abandonment of Americans to the slaughter in Benghazi.

The fact is, our government really has NEVER given a shit about its servants...especially the military.

Anyone who believes differently is delusional, and anybody who volunteers is an ignorant fool.

And yes...I was delusional and ignorant at one time.

      I served.

    2. Mr. Zoomie....I would wager you were an "ignorant fool" at the tender age of 17-19, correct ? I know I was. It took me several years of retirement to understand the error of my ways.

      Take care,

    3. I've come a long ways also. I remember having lunch with an Army Captain and a few others at La Castille http://tinyurl.com/9ohhkg6 in Saigon when he stated that we shouldn't keep going around the world setting up governments and I had no idea what he was talking about, though I certainly have a soft spot in my heart for that one, as the Fall of Saigon was the saddest day in my life, bar none.

    4. Dan...I was a late bloomer. I was 22. ;)

Brock...This whole mess made me think of you and how you and your South Vietnamese comrades were fed to the wolves.

I will NEVER trust my government nor ANY of its various agents.

      EVER!

    5. It's absolutely mind boggling to me that the Afghans and Iraqis are doing so. They best get out of country because all that supported us will get their throats cut sooner or later.

  3. "Thank you for your service". Yeah, right.

I don't appreciate that anymore than you do.

    1. Well Brock...."thank you for your service" has become the same inconsequential, indifferent commentary of the cashier who mechanically wishes one to "have a nice day". It's something they just say....it is mechanical. It means nothing to me and nothing to them.

Allow me to offer you a "thank you" for the personal touch you lend your blog. I monitor your postings and I notice you give a personal comment, a reply to most every person who comments here. Thank you for being so gracious.

  4. And another thing...

    Self-serving, self-absorbed, steroid-soaked, look-at-me faggots and bullies like "Tank" are a dime a dozen...and the norm...in this nation.

They think "sacrificing" is doing without an internet connection for six hours.

"Tank" employed as a security guard is quite fitting as well.

He will no doubt one day be a member of "law enforcement," because he couldn't get a job anywhere else...and he fit the pre-employment psych evaluation.

Damn if that ain't the truth.

  6. "I have sent this to every Marine and former marine on the planet. I have posted this to FB and every social network where Jarheads hang out. This Tank asshole's teeth will meet a curb if its left up to us. RESPECT will be shown or forced one way or the other."

This comes from a buddy (Recon sniper) who is still active. The current US government and 47% of the population may not respect the USMC but I suspect there is going to be one hurting douche bag in Charlotte who will piss his pants every time he sees a Marine from now on. Like President Reagan once said, "Most people wonder if they have made a difference in life, the Marines don't have that worry."

  8. Why don't you all quit bitching. I am and never will be sorry to be American. I served and would continue to serve if I didn't get hit in the guts by a mortar in Mahmudiyah. If you have problems with the governemtn then protest. If you have a problem with something someone has said, then speak up. You fought for rights that you won't even use. If you don't agree where the country is going then do something about it. But please stop complaining. You were all once do-ers...
