KIA, WIA and EIA

Another friend who served in Special Forces in the Highlands in 1964 told me about a puzzling radio report they received from one of their teams at an outlying camp. The team radioed the coded number of friendlies (ARVN troops) killed in action (KIA) and wounded in action (WIA) but added 1 "EIA." When asked what "EIA" meant, the outpost said one of the Yards had gone outside the perimeter wire at night to go to the toilet and was "eaten in action" by a tiger.
