After the Battle of Bentonville, and the surrender of General Joseph Eggleston Johnston to General William Tecumseh Sherman, my biological great great great grandfather, Corporal Jonathan Trueblood, North Carolina Seventh Regiment, Confederate Senior Reserves, walked from North Carolina to Randolph County, Indiana to be reunited with his son, my biological great great grandfather, William W. Trueblood, who had served with the Union Army in Company F, Seventeenth Indiana Mounted Infantry.
