Show My Street

Via Cousin Colby

Better than Goggle. I typed an outlying street address in Saigon and it zoomed right on the spot.

Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon. The portion in front was named John F. Kennedy Square until the Communists took over.

  1. Is that where the statue of the SVN Marines was?

  2. Not far from there. If you walk straight pass the statue shown in the first picture below, then turn left at the white Caravelle Hotel that you see on the right of the picture, you would walk three blocks and run straight into it. The building to the right of the church is the Saigon Post Office. When you turn left at the Caravelle you would see the Continental Hotel of Graham Greene fame which the Italians have completely ruined by enclosing the veranda. Use to sit there and have drinks while watching the pretty girls in Ao Dais go by.
