A Powder Keg

From The PJ Tatler:
Only 63.7% of working-age Americans are currently in the workforce – the lowest in almost 29 years!
To put it another way, 36.3% of working-age Americans do not have a job and are not even looking.

Less than 2/3rds of working age adults in this country are employed or actively seeking employment. That leaves over a 3rd of working-age Americans gaining some sort of income from some other source than a regular job. They are either receiving government subsidies (food stamps and such),off the books employment (odd jobs and such),charity,or they are involved in various criminal enterprises.

This isn't good at all. This is a powder keg waiting to explode.

  1. I have applied for many jobs in this area and have had many interviews. I have not landed a job. I have been told by the HR managers that so many people are applying, that if you get a job its like winning the lottery!

  4. Everywhere I go I ask if they are getting 40 hours a week. 98% say they are only getting part time work, but would like full time. I think many are underemployed.
