Update: NC Principal forced to retire amid 9-year-old boy's suspension

A Gastonia principal who accused a 9-year-old of sexual harassment retired abruptly Tuesday night.Principal Jerry Bostic told Eyewitness News he retired as of 5 p.m.He told the Gaston Gazette the Gaston County School District gave him one hour to decide whether to quit or be fired."One mistake in 44 years, and I'm not given the benefit of the doubt. I really don't believe I was treated fairly," Bostic told Eyewitness News.

    "What I can imagin is this child acting like a little tug/gangster wanna be playa', who has been told on other accounts about this behavior on the playgroud, making a commit on how "fine" that teacher is in front of his other little buddys. When this was brought to the principals attention, that was the final straw. Lets make this poor child out to be the angel they always are until they end up in jail or somewhere else! What a joke!"
