State Gets $5 Mil Bonus For Food Stamp Sign Up

Via III Percent Patriots

This administration needs to go.
===========================

In its quest to promote taxpayer-funded entitlement programs, the Obama Administration has actually rewarded one state with a $5 million bonus for its efficiency in adding food-stamp recipients to already bulging rolls.

It’s part of the administration’s campaign to eradicate “food insecure households” by improving access and increasing participation in the government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Incidentally, the program was recently changed to SNAP to eliminate the stigma that comes with a name like food stamps. Just a few months ago the federal agency that administers the program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), launched a multi-million-dollar initiative to recruit more food-stamp participants even though the number of recipients has skyrocketed in the last few years.

This week Oregon officials bragged that the USDA has given the state $5 million in “performance bonuses” for ensuring that people eligible for food benefits receive them and for its “swift processing of applications.” The money comes on the heels of a separate $1.5 million award from the feds for making “accurate payments of food stamp benefits to clients.” So welfare recipients are clients?

  1. They also get 10% "kickback" from the feds for any "child support collections."

This is why all the courts now order CS payments to be run through the state bureaucracy instead of paid directly by one parent to the other.

I've had sole legal custody of my girls for >12 years - for **8** of them I had my income-tax refund "seized" every year - simply because I once had a CS order.

I worked in a neighboring state, where the ex also lived, so every year that state would seize my refund.

I'd raise hell, they'd release it.

Then *MY* state would seize it and hand it to the other state. Eventually, they'd cut me a check - usually in August or September, 6-7 months after they stole it from me. The following Feb. or March we'd do it all again...

Thing is, they got SERIOUSLY PAID - which explains why they never fixed their system!

    Example - 5k refund...

Other state grabs $5k, gets $500 "bonus" from Feds. They release my refund.

MY state grabs it, gets THEIR $500 bonus, then hands it to other-state who gets ANOTHER $500 from the feds!

$1500 in "bonus" $$ for wrongly grabbing my money and tying me up for ~6 months??!! Like I said - no WONDER they couldn't seem to get it straight!

Meanwhile, I am (remember) the CUSTODIAL PARENT -- so they're actually taking $$ *AWAY FROM THE KIDS!!*

Needless to say -- the non-custodial Mom (who never was ordered -- much less BOTHERED -- to pay a single dime in CS -- never got hassled at all...

  3. I'd read it elsewhere - smart man!

I dealt with DSS when the Ex falsely (obviously) accused me of molesting my girls. My Atty had a gen-yoo-wine conniption *FIT*, but... I did what I believed was right and it paid off -- in *MY* case they really handed Mommy her @$$... But I was both lucky and *BLESSED*!

Otherwise, I would *NEVER* have allowed them in my home, even if it meant running them off at gunpoint. I'd wait for them to leave and flee the state before allowing them to "help" my family.

I also made it *PAINFULLY* clear to teachers/guidance/etc at their schools that I don't give a tinker's DAMN what the law says, if they have questions about me or mine they'd damn well better contact **ME** or... well... They'll let me out SOMETIME, and when they do, I'll do things to you that would make the devil puke, and you'll be begging for the sweet release of death for a long, long time before I'd let him come for you!

I gave a similar message when I found out they were in the habit of taking girls to "the clinic" for birth-control and even *ABORTIONS* without parental notice or consent!!

    "Not **MY** daughter you won't!!"

"But... Mr. Dad -- the law says..."

    "APPARENTLY, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!
You don't NEED to WORRY about 'the law' -- but you'd damn well BETTER BE WORRIED ABOUT ME!!!!"

"It's funny -- they've always been *INCREDIBLY* polite and helpful to me, I don't think I could ASK for better service!!" -- he said with a big $#!+-eating grin!

  4. Thanks for the NJ link. Didn't know that had happened to Mr. Robinson, explains some things more. Sadly he got hit hard by the liberal types here in Oregon, especially when he bashed public schools (they get upset when you attack their churches). He is running in '12 again, DeFazio is a slippery bugger though.

Oregon's DHS doesnt have a great rep either lately but which does? Oregon kept a Canadian kid in custody for a couple of years over not having a bike helmet (US step dad, Canadian mom). His mother used to sell medical pot in BC. This from a state that allows medical pot... They also wanted to send a kid down to his paternal grandmother in Mexico instead of his adoptive Oregon parents. His bio parents were drug burn outs. His granny lived in conditions that would get kids taken away here.

On food stamps... don't get me started. The worst are those who cry about the fed timber subsidies to some counties in Oregon. Uh, what economy are they gonna develop in a dem owned regulated state to replace the timber jobs you took for the spotted owls?
