  4. Now, you're picking on my Tar Heel sweetheart, John! After her first tour, she performed here in Emerald Isle and the first words she said were "It's sure good to be back where they know what fried Okra is!":)

  5. I think this is a great idea. My husband would be rolling in the money hooking up all these outside air conditioners!

Sometimes you just have to look at it from someone else's pov.

  6. LOL I Love the DB vs the 3rd grader. I believe she was told to say that. It just can't be true.

:) By the way, we'll be coming to Dixieland for a few days beginning Saturday and hope to see y'all. Too bad Evan didn't come to camp.

  8. Yes I know. Eric really wanted him to go, esp since his family has ancestors who fought in the WBTS. I don't think we can afford any camp this year. We've decided on taking a much needed family vacation in July in TN. Eric is helping host a benefit Golf tournament tomorrow at Hilma for a friend of his who passed from cancer last year. Sunday, he is trying to talk me into going to Topsail Island....We'll see. Evan will be out helping at the tournament all day Saturday but she is very welcome to come enjoy the pool or hang around with Evan. As for me I continue to work 12 - 15 hrs a day. :0(

  9. But, Deborah, we have scholarships available which, of course, means it's free! So, no excuse next year, Ma'am! The boy we brought up here from near Little Washington has loved it. He's tired after all these non-stop days, but loves history and wants to come back next year. Just a wonderful, like minded group, as always, seeing this is Dixie's fifth year. Maybe we can get together Sunday or Monday.
