Doug Casey on Civil War, Past and Potential

Via The Arctic Patriot

The Abraham Lincoln haters out there will like this Doug Casey rant. He believes the powder keg has been lit and it will blow before the year is out. Think 1789 in France and 1861 in the US. Times to try men’s souls.

AP's comments.
In it, the ramifications of the Second American Revolution are discussed and linked to our embryonic "troubles" brewing today.

It is a good read, in my opinion, worth every second of time.

.....

I've been thinking a lot about that war lately, along the same lines of this interview.

I'm so tired of the slavery issue being brought up over and over to try to end the discussion whenever the war and its causes are debated.

Here's the logic:

The South had slaves, therefore they were wrong.

Oh.

So... it follows that the Americans were automatically wrong in the Revolution. But wait, they had slaves under the Brits, so the Brits condoned it as well. So the Brits were wrong.

Moral High Ground, anyone?
