Jeff Davis Pie

I found the picture of the pie on another site of recipes and the below words are from the submitter, believe it or not. Boy, our Marxist school system is doing a profound job........

"All I can figure is that this pie was named after Jefferson Davis...who was the President of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. ... And, I only know that thanks to Google. ...I can't really find why or when the pie was named after him. Not that it matters, but I was curious! ...Anyway, on to the pie! It's one of my dad's favorites. A drive-up restaurant in Abilene used to make this pie and my mom & dad were huge fans as young 'ens!"
